Michael Barnes makes a refreshing difference

Michael Barnes’ exceptional creative talents have catapulted him to new heights – a set at Pinewood studios styling the hair of international actress Keira Knightly for a Water Aid charity documentary.
Two years ago Michael pioneered the first known set of hair pictures featuring models and hair styles in an underwater environment with top photographer Candice renowned world wide for her underwater images.
The images were totally original and unique earning him a finalist position in the AIPP Trophy.

As the underwater studio heaved with producers, film and sound crews Michael created a picture of tranquillity with a variety of aquatic hair designs on the beautiful Keira Knightly. He used a fusion of natural hair, synthetic hairpieces and jewellery to complement the star’s natural glamour.
“Photographing hair under water is awe-inspiring. Whilst wind machines are often used in hair photography water poses a totally different challenge and requires an approach to hair unlike any other environment.
